THE 32nd 'MO' AWARDS PRESENTATION CEREMONY
At the beautiful Bankstown District Sports Club on 17th June 2008, a completely packed house of professional performers, agents, club managers and bookers and their friends enjoyed a stunning evening of entertainment and fun at the 32nd 'MO' Awards Presentation Ceremony. After the phenomenal success of the previous year's Presentation Ceremony, this event cemented home the fact that not only did the huge efforts of 'MO' Chairman Bobby Bradford and his wife, 'MO' Administation Director Mary Bradford, make this event an outrageous triumph and vindication of their unselfish dedication, but proved to the entire show business community that the 'MO' Awards are being supported by the performers themselves.
The arriving audience were entertained by terrific music from South American duo Latin Vibes, then the ceremony commenced with showbiz legend Barry Crocker reading a short poem and introducing 'MO' Chairman Bobby Bradford. Television celebrity Donnie Sutherland compered the evening in his inimitable fashion, bringing on stage a galaxy of entertainment leading lights to act as Presenters. Paul Martell, Calvin DeGrey, Lisa Crouch and Dave Burke brought their unique talents to the event and their off-the-cuff one-liners had the audience in stitches.
The 'MO' Award presentations were indispersed with some amazing performances, from a showcase of rising junior stars that performed their numbers with astounding professionalism and talent, to seasoned entertainers from the ranks of Australian club and corporate show business. The audience enthusiastically displayed their support and thoroughly enjoyed this event, which proved that live entertainment needs the MO Awards. Now this prestigious organisation is well and truly back on track to establish itself not only as a charitable benevolent vehicle to assist entertainers in need, but to continue its important role to promote live entertainment in Australia.
